Christina hosted a green smoothie class in her home last Saturday from 2 to 3 PM. There were 11 attendees, and more than half had never made a green smoothie before. She opened by discussing the benefits of making green smoothies which are that everyone can get the bulk of the required fruits and vegetables in one smoothie. And a person can make enough for the next day. She used a Vita-mix to blend all the ingredients that included, over the course of three smoothies: kale, spinach, bananas, apples, ginger, persimmon, oranges, lemons, coconut milk, coconut water, and spring water. Everybody sampled each smoothie. Chris concluded the session with a pot of tea and raw desserts, most notably her famous Strawberry Cashew Pie. Go to recipes page for smoothie recipes.
