Planning meals is something that most of us attempt at some point in time. It really depends on your personal needs. Maybe your plans are based on budgetary confines, family size, allergy restrictions or seasonal tastes. Whatever your needs, the Canary would like to offer a few suggestions. A little meal planning that will go a long way in optimizing the benefits of good nutrition and health. |
Timing is EverythingAs we know , different foods take varying times to digest and be of benefit to our bodies. So based on our activity level we should eat accordingly, to best access our energy and strength.

Food Combinations Below is a food combining chart that shows combinations for optimum digestion. The typical western diet breaks most of these rules which may account for the use of so many antacids and diarrhea medications. I am not advocating strict adherence to this chart, however if you are dealing with digestive problems it is something you may want to experiment with. I was personally helped by separating breads from meat protein.

Stocking UpHaving the right foods on hand is essential in meal preparation. Likewise having food that spoils in the refrigerator is disheartening, to say the least. The Canary has some suggestions for making delicious meals without the waste or having to make extra trips to the store.
